Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Competition Controls Group, LLC ("CCG", "we"), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA. Last updated: October 2026.

This policy covers the CCG Sector Report and Race Suite software, purchases and support. Short version: your timing data, reports and settings stay on your PC. The software only contacts the license server, and we do not sell personal data.

What the software sends

The software contacts the license server (Keyforge, keyforge.dev) only when you activate a license, when it refreshes the license (at start-up, about once a week when online), or when you click a license button. Each request sends:

  • your license key;
  • a device ID: a one-way hash of the Windows machine ID, which identifies the PC to the license but cannot be reversed to the original ID;
  • the PC name (for example "ENG-LAPTOP-2"), so you can recognize your PCs in the customer portal;
  • the product being activated.

As with any internet request, the server also sees your IP address.

The software has no analytics, telemetry, ads or automatic crash reporting.

What stays on your PC

Timing files, reports, car and layout settings, license files and log files are stored only on your PC (in the install folder, your chosen folders, and %LocalAppData%\CCG Race Suite). We only see a file, such as a log, if you send it to us.

Purchases

Polar (polar.sh) sells the software as merchant of record. Polar collects your name, email address, billing address and payment details to process the purchase, invoices and sales tax, under Polar’s privacy policy. Card details are handled by Polar’s payment processor; CCG never sees them. Polar shares your name, email, order and license details with us so we can support you. When an order is paid, our order handler (running on Cloudflare) creates your license key with Keyforge, using your email address and the product you bought, and emails you the key through Resend.

Support email

When you email us, we keep the message and anything you attach so we can help you and keep a record of the issue.

Website

competitioncontrols.com is hosted by GoDaddy and served through Cloudflare, which sets one cookie (__cf_bm) to tell people from bots. The website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and a security badge from TrustedSite, and the product pages load Polar’s checkout script from jsDelivr; like any web request, those services receive your IP address. The checkout itself is Polar’s page, shown over ours. Messages sent through the contact form are emailed to us and checked for spam by Akismet (Automattic).

How we use this information

To issue and check licenses, limit a license to its number of PCs, provide support and updates, keep business and tax records, and contact you about your license (for example, maintenance ending). We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Service providers

  • Keyforge: license keys and activations.
  • Cloudflare: runs our order handler, which creates license keys for paid orders.
  • Resend: sends license key emails.
  • Polar: checkout, payments, invoices and sales tax.
  • Google Workspace: support email.
  • GoDaddy and Cloudflare: website hosting; Akismet: contact form spam filtering; jsDelivr: serves Polar’s checkout script.

Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy and only for these purposes.

Retention

License and purchase records are kept while the license is active and as long as needed for tax and accounting law afterwards. Support email is kept for up to 3 years after the last message. To remove a PC’s record, remove the PC in the customer portal.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to stop emailing you, at Support@competitioncontrols.com. Some records (such as invoices) must be kept by law. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have more rights under local law, and you may complain to your data protection authority.

Data is processed in the United States and in the countries where our service providers operate.

Children

The software and website are not directed to children under 16.

Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date above.
